Here’s How Arnab Told His Newsroom About His Resignation And Revealed His Future Plans

If you were on the internet yesterday, even for a second, you would’ve seen your news feed overpopulated by the same headline that Arnab Goswami had resigned. It was certainly quite a shock, especially for the Indian dads (Arnab’s fanboys) who religiously tuned in every night to watch the brilliant journalist rip people to shreds!

Arnab Goswami convened a meeting with his core team on Tuesday evening and informed them that he had resigned. He went on to have an hour long conversation reminiscing how he had started from scratch and built Times Now into what it is today.

He also added that everything at Times Now was “hand-picked” by him and built from the ground up.

According to a senior journalist at the meeting, Arnab did not declare his future plans but talked about his “dream of having an independent media.”

“He said he doesn’t want to gather moss, he wants to be a rolling stone.”

Arnab added that he “didn’t want to get stuck in television media”. He wanted to “keep up with the times” which he “can’t do in his current role.”

The senior journalist also added that Arnab’s announcement was met with stunned silence. However, many weren’t surprised since there was a buzz about him leaving the channel for some time now.
