People went into shock when Arnab Goswami resigned from Times Now and the same people were extremely jubilant when he announced his newest venture called ‘Republic‘.

While his voice and debates, frequently divided the public opinion at the ‘Newshour’ there is something about the most vocal journalist of our times, that made the people yell, ‘the nation wants to know.’

Recently, Arnab Goswami made an appearance with Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. And his address was as fiery as he is. He also spoke about his comeback with ‘Republic.’

“I have not been on TV for about a month now, as you may know. We will be back. We’ll be back with Republic very soon. “

The star anchor, in a question to the CM, posed a very fitting picture about the sorry state of freedom of expression in the country.

“Politicians take offence very quickly. A few months back there was a drought in Maharashtra and all the politicians were concerned about a comedian putting out a video on Snapchat. It was so bad that Tanmay Bhat had to almost go in hiding for 20 days.”

Taking a dig at politicians, the journalist also drew a parity with leaders who think they’re not answerable to the commons because they’re at a position of power.

He also spoke about his yet-to-launch outlet, ‘Republic’ at lengths and how he plans to break the monotony and the web of corporatisation, with it.

Arnab also took a snide at his contemporaries including the likes of business tycoons and fellow journalists who are have forgotten to draw ‘the line.’

Arnab, however, addressed the elephant in the room when he spoke about Arvind Kejriwal and demonisation, and how!

“I don’t know why Arvind Kejriwal opposes demonetisation. He came in much later, we broke the scam, then he brought his marketing brain to talk about corruption. He should know Kalmadi and Raja would never have been able to do their businesses through Paytm.”

Love him or hate him, you just can’t ignore him! TBH, we expected nothing else.
