If it’s in the papers, it must be true. There was a time when people depended on inked words of the newspapers and took them as ironclad. But can they do the same today? Not, for everything we guess. A lot has changed over the years. Now, it is like: If it’s in the papers, it maybe true.
While we still depend on the news material and information written in the newspapers when it comes to the matters of national and international domain, there’s one genre where the chances of reports being flaky on credibility are high – Entertainment.
There have been various instances where celebrities have openly slammed dailies about printing fake stories about them. And, joining the list of celebs is Arjun Kapoor.
Recently, there were front page news articles about Arjun Kapoor being assaulted by a drunk man on the sets of Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.

It was reported that the drunk driver visited the sets of the film and wanted to meet him. He met the star near his vanity and when they shook hands, the drunk man assaulted Arjun.
Chancing upon that piece of information, Arjun took to Twitter to slam the dailies by calling it irresponsible and how it worried his family. He mentioned how this all reportage was news to her.

He was more miffed because before carrying it, no one reached out to him or his PR team.
Nobody from @TOIIndiaNews got in touch with my PR team or me to get clarity before carrying an untrue front page article about me being assaulted. Rather unfortunate & avoidable. Hope this doesn’t happen in the future cause it got my family distressed and it’s not appreciated.

This isn’t the first time Arjun has clarified facts from fiction to the news organisations. He keeps doing so. We just hope there comes a time when doesn’t have to.
