As heavy rains and strong speeds of up to 114 kmph lash Mumbai, Cyclone Tauktae has caused flooding in many parts of the city. Up to 127 people have been reported missing after an ONGC barge went adrift and the rescue missions are getting delayed due to bad weather. Additionally, 479 complaints of falling trees were also received from across the city alongside uprooted electricity poles and damaged houses.

Amid this, Bollywood celebrities Amitabh Bachchan and Shruti Haasan shared their experiences with the cyclone, and how it is affecting them.
As per a report in HT, Shruti Haasan took to her Instagram stories to share a video narrating her ordeal, as well as expressing gratitude at the fact that she is not alone. She said, “The storm is never-ending. My windows may fly off. It’s very scary. Thank God this didn’t happen last lockdown, when I was alone.” Check it out:
Amitabh Bachchan, on the other hand, took to his official blog to reveal how the premises of his office named ‘Janak’ were flooded and the shelters for his staff blown away. He also mentioned how he offered t-shirts to the staff members who got drenched while repairing the damages.
He began by saying, “There is an eerie silence in the midst of the Cyclone .. the pounding and the lashing rains all day .. trees fell, leakages all over , flooding in the vulnerable Janak Office .. impromptu plastic cover sheets still in prep for the heavy Monsoon rain , ripped apart .. sheds and shelters for some staff blown away ..BUT the spirit of fight impregnable .. all hands on deck .. stepping out , repairing , preventing helping in extenuating circumstances drenched .. but on it.”
He added, “Staff simply amazing in such conditions .. their uniforms wet and dripping but they continue .. gave them dress changes urgently in this strife , from my own wardrobe and now they proudly move about as Chelsea and Jaipur Pink Panther supporters .. !!! in their team shirts and T’s .. some afloat in them and some squeezing their shape into them ..and amidst all this another crisis .. in the house .. uninvited guests that have decided to make home here and cause immense caution among some sensitive members of the family.”
