Akshay Kumar recently met with the Home Minister to discuss the development of an app for the martyr’s kin. It would facilitate deposit of funds directly into the verified bank account of the martyr‘s kin, which will be publicised through the ministry’s website that will display a link to the app. Isn’t that amazing? And, we know how diligently Akki runs a hospital in Mumbai, especially for police officers.
At Umang 2017, Akshay revealed the reason behind his decision of opening a hospital dedicated to Police officers and their families. He said,
“My father was battling cancer and I used to often visit the Tata Memorial Centre hospital for his treatment. I was saddened by the plight of the people who had come from all corners of the country to get their loved ones treated as they would just lie around wherever they got space.”
Akshay’s father was a soldier in the Indian Army. The plight of the people he saw at the hospital that day really moved him.
“That’s when I decided to open a hospital in Naigaon where the police officers and their families can stay during the course of the treatment. This is my way of giving back to the society and thanking the policemen for always putting the country before self.”
This is not the first time Akshay has done something which makes us proud. He does a lot for the Indian forces and their families but doesn’t like talking about it.
