‘Shoots 25 Variations, Works Like A Maniac’: ‘Dunki’ Actor Ajay Kumar On SRK’s Work Ethic

There have been many actors who have gone on record and stated that in a film set, it is Shahrukh Khan who works the hardest and there is apparently no one else in the industry who works as hard as he does. Despite having gained a remarkable superstardom, the actor continues to have a strong work ethic which he is not willing to compromise for anything.

Actor Ajay Kumar, who has worked with Shahrukh Khan in ‘Dunki’, revealed in an interview that King Khan never relaxes on set, even when everyone else is taking a break. When other actors head to their vanity vans, SRK is seen rehearsing his lines again and again in order to perfect them.

“It’s said about stars that as soon as the shoot breaks, they head to their vanity vans or start relaxing. Not Shah Rukh. Believe it or not, our communication scene is just two and a half minutes long. But for that scene to be perfect, Shah Rukh put in a total of six hours of hard work. He continued shooting until 7 in the evening. Even during a 10-minute break between shots for lighting changes, he wouldn’t sit down; he kept rehearsing. Though he had only four lines, he kept rehearsing them,” Ajay Kumar said, as quoted by Indian Express.

He further added that there’s a two-and-a-half-minute scene that he has with him. For that scene alone, SRK has rehearsed 20-25 times.

“He would ask, ‘If I do this, what will you do?’ After I responded, he would say, ‘Great, let’s rehearse.’ He didn’t just sit quietly after each line; he kept rehearsing. For that two-and-a-half-minute scene, he rehearsed with me at least 20 to 25 times. Shooting in at least 25 different variations. I didn’t see him sitting peacefully for those 6 hours; he worked like a maniac,” he revealed.

We should all learn a thing or two from SRK’s work ethic.
