This Ludhiana Restaurant Named ‘Hawai Adda’ Is Inside An Actual Aeroplane. No Kidding!

Living the uber-life is the motto of Punjabis. From expensive cars to homes sprawling acres, they know how to live a life full of opulence. So when I say that there is an aeroplane parked somewhere in our country that is actually a restaurant from inside, you know it is parked somewhere in Punjab.

‘Hawai Adda’, which literally translates to ‘airport’ is a swanky restaurant inside a life-sized aeroplane in the city of Ludhiana, Punjab.

Officially opened about two months back, the restaurant is located at the Verka Milk Bar premises on Ferozepur Road.

Originally an 180 seater Airbus A320, the seating capacity of the plane has been reduced to 65 to make ample room for the customers. Jaswinder Singh, the managing partner of the joint, tells about how he got the place together.

“I acquire scrapped planes and turn them into themed entertainment venues. In Punjab, it’s the first such project, and the first such restaurant in India.”

As the restaurant is one of a kind in India, it ran into some problems at the start. The local municipal corporation had no idea if they can consider an aeroplane put together as a building.

“There were some questions because it’s a new thing. But that’s all behind us now, sorted. We have a lifetime lease.”

Speaking of the idea, Jaswinder said that he thought of it himself but later found out that there are other such establishments located abroad. However, as per the rules, he can’t serve non-vegetarian food in his ‘plane’.
