Whether we’re driving a vehicle or just walking on the road, it is imperative to stay alert, refrain from using the phone and observe traffic rules so as to avoid accidents. Because the slightest negligence on our part can cause collisions and result in injuries.

According to Yahoo News, Facebook page “Dash Cam Owners Australia” recently shared footage of an accident that took place on the intersection of St Georges Road and Clauscen Street in Melbourne.

According to NDTV, the unfortunate incident happened when a cyclist riding past a stationary van and a black car turning on to a street from the opposite direction hit each other. As a result, the cyclist was knocked off his bike.

The video has now sparked an intense discussion on who was to blame for the collision. Some have questioned why the rider didn’t slow down while crossing an intersection and others believed that the driver should’ve been more cautious. A few, however, were amused at the white van’s hasty exit from the scene.

Who do you think was at fault? Maybe the onus was on both of them to be more careful and vigilant at a turning for their own safety.
