14-Year-Old Kid Suffering From Progeria Desired To Meet Aamir Khan And He Did

Progeria is a rare disorder and its symptoms include the aging of a child at a very young age. The clear depiction of this disease was made in the movie Paa where Amitabh Bachchan played the character of a progerian kid.

Meet Nihal Bitla, who suffers from this rare disorder. In a simple message on Humans of Bombay page, he talked about his disease and expressed an innocous desire to meet Aamir Khan.

On being interviewed, he talked about his journey. Here are some of the keypoints of the conversation:

1. He had the disease since he was a year old. But his parents always offered him a normal lifestyle. Like any other child, he went to school and had friends.

2. He is fascinated with robots and does a lot of research on them.

3. He has a bucket list too – he wishes to go to Disneyland and meet the Honda Asimo Robot.

4. He also expressed his desire to meet Aamir Khan as the movie Taare Zameen Par inspired him and gave him the courage to face the world.

 

Little did he know that his last wish would come true! Aamir Khan obliged to meet him. He not only met him but spent a good amount of time with him and engaged in a thoughtful tete-a-tete.

He thanked Aamir Khan for making his wish come true and also gifted him a painting of Ganesha, that he made himself. After meeting him, he felt really optimistic about life.
