As an honor to Richa Singh who stood fourth nationally in the ISC examination, Kolkata police made her the deputy commissioner for a day. A student of G.D. Birla Centre for Education, Richa scored 99.25 percent marks in the 12th Board examinations.
As a token of appreciation of her achievement by the city police, she “occupied” the chair of the Deputy Commissioner (South Eastern Division) of city police from 6 am to 12 noon during the day.
Her father Rajesh Singh works as an additional officer-in-charge of Gariahat police station. Being appointed as a DCP, Richa bossed her father for a day as she held the office.

When asked what would she order her father as the DCP of the city, Richa came up with a very heart-melting reply. “I will order him to return home early,” she said.
Over-whelmed with his daughter’s remarkable achievement, Richa’s father assured he follows her order. “Can’t express how happy I am. She is my ‘superior’ for the day. She has ordered me to return home early. I shall obey her today”, he said reports NDTV.
Talking about her future plans, Richa says that she wants to take History or Sociology as her major subjects. She also aspires to become an IAS officer!
What a proud moment it must have been for Richa’s father! She is surely inspiring the young students to rise high and make their parents proud. Well done, Richa!
