Food for normal people would be something they have to consume in order to live. But for some, food is heaven- food is everything they will ever want; it is everything they will ever need. People like these can be characterized by their absolute inability to share food, their incessant sweating when someone asks, ‘hey, can I take some?’, or their unapologetic behaviour when someone takes food off their plate.
If you’re one of them, chill; keep your head up, and nod along to the following things.
1. You’ve tried to eat normally in public places before, but you’ve failed
It’s a life battle to know how much you’re supposed to eat, and how much you’re supposed to leave for the others to eat.
2. You are very protective of your food when it arrives in a restaurant
The moment it arrives, you’re all over it as if it’s bae.
3. For you, food like French Fries and Nachos are a matter of concern
You automatically start calculating how much people have taken from your plate. That’s bloody important.
4. And it’s the end of the world when someone takes food off your plate without asking
PROTOCOL, PEOPLE.
5. People often think that you’re being mean or irrational
But they just don’t understand how weirdly protective about your food you are. Heck, even you don’t understand it.
6. Stuff that your nightmares are made of: sharing pizza
Especially if you have mentally decided to have the last piece and someone else takes it. LIKE WTF.
7. It’s not like you haven’t tried being nice about sharing; it’s just not meant for you to do
Calm. Breathe. Brea- STOP EATING MY FOOD!
8. Because of this mismatch in your sharing habits with other people, you prefer eating alone
Where there is no pressure for sharing your food. Absolute bliss.
9. You always order more food when there are more number of people involved
The more food there is on the table, the lesser they will look at yours. True Story.
10. You have tried to explain to people that it’s just how you are
And that there are no hard feelings; it’s just how you feel about your food. Alas, there are just a few who understand.
11. There are rare occasions where you actually want to share food with people around you
Mainly because they’re nice to you despite your not-sharing-food problem.
12. You also try to make sure that since you aren’t sharing, you don’t take food off other people’s plates
Even if they’re okay with it, you try not to. It’s protocol.
13. Sometimes, you have to inform people that you are going to eat a whole meal by yourself
So that there is no confusion about guarding your food from the others.
14. Because of your habits, you often reflect upon your savage behaviour of not wanting to share
“Do I really hate sharing food this much?” It baffles you sometimes.
15. And soon after the reflecting session, you promise to be nicer
One could always try. Yes. Probably. Maybe. Maybe not. NOPE NOT GONNA HAPPEN GIMME MY CHEESE FRIES BACK.
