Almost all of us who have travelled in trains will have some or the other story to tell about a corrupt TTE, the unavailability of seats or probably about a stout ticket agent.
But Railway Ministry under the leadership of Minister Suresh Prabhu has come up with a simple and effective means to solve our troubles.
It is mandatory for anyone who wants to board a train in India to have an Aadhar card. Creating an account on IRCTC, or buying it from the booth; you will have to use your card details.Â
It will also reduce the risk of people booking tickets with fake names or agents who would buy a lot of them in a jam-packed season and sell them off at higher prices.
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has introduced this new rule to make sure that there is every bit of clarity in the database about every passenger’s details, to assure a coherent and perfectly smooth travelling experience.
This compulsory alliance has also made it possible for the government to roll out other benefits like travel insurance for every passenger.
Although there is just one complication that might arise. According to Supreme Court Aadhar card is a non-compulsory document.Â
The government claims that 90% of the citizens of this country have Aadhar cards, seems implausible but that is exactly what is on the cards, right now.
Suresh Prabhu and Railway Ministry should be ready to negotiate their terms with the Supreme Court for this scheme which will be effective by December 2016 everywhere, to go on unperturbed.
