Most of us tend to be kind enough to the eateries which treat us well, by leaving them with a ‘tip’ before leaving. While the small token of appreciation usually starts from the double digits to a few hundred bucks at the maximum, a strange case in the United States saw kindness reach a whole new level.
The unusual incident took place at the Soup Dog restaurant, in the south-eastern state of North Carolina, where a certain customer left a cash ‘tip’ of $10,000 (₹7,37,550) on a visit. According to Fox News, the dollars were collected by Alaina Custer, an employee of the outlet situated in Greenville.
If that hasn’t surprised you enough, the next bit of information surely will. Interestingly, the man had ordered only two glasses of water during his time at the restaurant. Speaking about the extraordinary moment, Custer said that she thought it to be a prank played on her.
“I literally didn’t think it was real. I picked it up and it was a giant stack of hundreds, I was shaking and just kept asking, ‘What is this? I thought someone was playing a joke on me.”
However, the tip was not the only thing he had left. He had also placed a note along with the cash, that read, “Thanks for the delicious water.”
For those who are curious to know who the man is, his identity has been revealed. And it seems like he has made it a habit of leaving huge amounts of tips at eateries and recording their expressions! Going by the name of Mr. Beast, he is a popular YouTuber with 8.9 million subscribers on the social media platform!

Coming back to the incident we were talking about, Mr. Beast had two men filming the reaction of the restaurant employee’s after receiving the tip. However, he came back to the restaurant later and joined his team in meeting the restaurant staff.
