After MS Dhoni decided to step down as India’s captain and Virat Kohli took over, the selection committee met for the first time on Friday to pick the squad for the upcoming series against England. The selections were pretty much obvious, other than a few little surprises.
Yuvraj Singh made a comeback in both the ODI and the T20 squad for the upcoming series against England. Excited by the news, Yuvraj retweeted a PTI tweet adding some text showcasing his emotions. A little while later, he deleted said tweet for reasons best known to him.
While some people feel that he might have got embarrassed and hence deleted the tweet, it is difficult to understand why would he feel so after making an ODI comeback after almost 3 years! (He played his last ODI in Dec 2013).
We all know Yuvraj Singh as a player who proved himself on the biggest stage after defeating cancer! He might not have been a regular member of the side but he never stopped giving his 100% for the nation. He deserves every bit of happiness for getting selected in the team.
I for one, am very happy with him back in the team. I’ll be glued to the TV screen watching him hit those sixes on the leg side and remind England what happened in Durban in 2007. 😀
