When Fellow Soldiers Froze In Panic, A 42 Year Old Woman Bravely Saved This Army Jawan’s Life

A soldier of the Indian Army had a civilian woman to thank for saving his life.

The army jawan, Mukesh Kumar of Assam Rifles was on a routine patrolling with his platoon when a pack of stray wild dogs attacked him. As he ran away from the approaching attack, he fell into a 50-foot deep pit.

And not only that, he hit his head on a rock and lost his consciousness also. His fellow soldiers started panicking as Mukesh lay motionless. They thought he was dead, and started crying for help.

That is when Veena Sharma, a 42-year-old braveheart, who was passing by came to his rescue. She saw that the other jawans had frozen in panic and she also saw that Mukesh was not breathing at all.

Mrs. Sharma wasted no time in giving the unconscious jawan mouth to mouth resuscitation to revive him. She revived the jawan, but he still needed proper medical care. So she called her 72-year-old father to come help the army jawan.

“Finding no other way to shift the injured man, I called my 72-year-old father Ramesh Sharma. Since none of the soldiers knew how to drive, it was left to my father to transport the injured soldier to Jutogh military hospital,”

Jawan Mukesh Kumar was then transferred to Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla and is currently being treated.

The 42-year-old woman was given an appreciation letter by the Assam Rifles commanding officer for her “exceptional act.”

The quickness and alertness of this brave woman saved our jawan’s life. She is a mother and a homemaker. And a complete braveheart too.
