This Dog Momma Quit A Full-Time Job & Spent 57 Days Searching For Her Lost Doggo!

When we love someone, we often go to every extreme to ensure their safety. People who own a doggo feel the same way for their furry friends. Going to the moon and back would seem like no biggie if their doggo were in danger. And this is what this Washington woman did. A dog momma quit her fulltime job and spent 57 days searching with her husband for their lost pooch.

Carole and Verne King went to Montana for a family trip with their doggo Katie. When the couple returned to their dog-friendly hotel in Kalispell after a late night at a stock-car race, they were welcomed by a devasting piece of news. The couple discovered that their 7-year-old Border collie named Katie had unlashed herself and barged out of the hotel possibly terrified by a thunderstorm that had swept through the area.

Katie went missing in a place (that was strange to her) near the vast open space of Glacier National Park, hence the couple knew to find her won’t be easy. They reportedly searched for Katie till 4 a.m. that day but in vain. The front-desk attendant of the hotel asked them to send some photos of Katie and together they began making and distributing fliers around the area.

“Every night going to bed, it was gut-wrenching. Is she warm? Did she get to eat today? It tore us up,” said Mr King.

The next 57 days were tough for them. They desperately searched for the doggo and reached out on social media for help. They reportedly posted hundreds of flyers in the small town of Kalispell and drove and walked for miles yelling Katie’s name and whistling. In the desperate attempt to devote as much time they could to find their doggo as soon as possible, Carole, a postal carrier quit her job. The word of the missing dog spread like wildfire and soon the entire town came to help the couple. And finally, Carole spotted Katie.

“People are stopping in their vehicles, getting out and hugging us. I think the whole neighbourhood knew that we found her.”

When they found Katie, she had lost 12 pounds and was severely dehydrated and was on the brink of starvation.

But the Kings were overwhelmed by the response of the people who helped them find their dog. “I never gave up. I never lost hope. I think what I got out of this was the kindness of strangers,” said Carole.

Anything for family, right?
