Everything is hunky-dory in a family until someone decides that they should play a board game. It is then when all the chupa hua drama, scheming, plotting, and the borderline hatred for each other comes out! Even a simple round of Ludo can cause severe rishton mein darar!
For example, a 24-year-old woman in Bhopal filed a court case against her father for cheating in a round of Ludo, reports India Today. She claimed that she had lost all respect for her him, hated him, and wanted to snap all ties with him. In fact, she didn’t even want to call him “father” anymore!
According to DNA, the woman along with her 2 siblings and her father used to play the board game during the lockdown. She lost to him several times and began “resenting” him. One day, her father killed one of her tokens (goti) by allegedly cheating and she felt like it was a “breach of trust”.
“Nowadays, children are unable to endure defeat which is why such cases come up. They need to learn to accept defeat which is as important as winning,” said the family court counsellor, Sarita Rajani.
It took 4 counselling sessions for the situation to get better in the family.
