Every and any incident in this country can be easily sensationalized. Everyone has an opinion and almost every opinion is offensive. Recently a fight broke out on the social media after Hema Malini’s car accident, which lead to the death of a 2-year-old kid. The arguments had barely paused for a while, but recently when actress Hema Malini tweeted about the incident after recovering from her injuries, it lead to a new issue.

In her tweets, she extended her gratitude to all her well-wishers who sent in their prayers for her recovery and supported her while the media bashed her. In a series of tweets that she posted, she also wrote how she wishes that the girl’s father followed the traffic rules so that his tiny tot’s life could have been saved, implying that it was in fact, the other party’s fault because of which the accident had occurred.

While Hema Malini’s driver who was booked under several sections is out on bail, the victim’s family is admitted in the hospital and still suffering from many injuries.

The victim’s father in a statement given to the media said, “I can remember before drifting to unconsciousness that ahead of my car, there was a Wagon R, which crossed the road. I was driving the car at almost negligible speed. I took a turn to Lalsot on Jaipur-Agra road but within seconds a speeding Mercedes rammed into my car. After that what happened I did not remember. I have lodged an FIR against the driver of Mercedes for overspeeding and rash driving.”

In her tweets, she also thanks her well-wishers and notes that it is her good work as an actor that has brought her ‘good will.’ She doesn’t mention her work as a politician. The debate still continues in the media on whether it was Hema Malini’s fault or not in leaving the injured child behind while she left in a private vehicle of a BJP leader for the hospital.

Politics and media debate aside, it is quintessential that traffic rules are followed because you never know what your one missed move can lead to.
