Desi Twitter Slams Vivek Oberoi For Referring To Narendra Modi As ‘Bhai’

Vivek Oberoi was almost a lost face in the Bollywood industry until he was chosen to play the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his biopic. However, the film directed by Umang Kumar had to push through a plethora of controversies before finally making its way into the theatres on May 24th.

But Oberoi’s problems don’t seem to end anytime soon. The 42-year-old actor is now being slammed all over Twitter for a comment of his, related to the Indian Prime Minister.

On Thursday, Narendra Modi took an oath for his second term as the nation’s leader in front of 8000 guests at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Vivek Oberoi was a part of the esteemed guest list for the prestigious occasion which included various international leaders, dignitaries, eminent personalities from the field of entertainment and sports.

But things turned against the actor when he took to Twitter to congratulate Narendra Modi. In his post, Oberoi addressed Modi as ‘bhai’ which offended the Twitterati and called for a slamming.

While some thought that Oberoi lacked the basic respect for the Prime Minister, the others assumed that he is high on his successful Bollywood comeback.
