Dabboo Reveals Vidya Balan’s ‘No Photoshop’ Policy: “She Doesn’t Want To Be Made Slimmer”

Actor Vidya Balan has been a proud advocate of body positivity and it appears she’s taken yet another admirable stand against unrealistic beauty standards. Reports suggest she has issued strict rules for her photographs taken during photoshoots.

Vidya has asked photographers and publications not to re-touch her images, as she doesn’t want to be made out to look slimmer than she really is.

Ace photographer Dabboo Ratnani spoke of her wishes recently, adding that she’s quite comfortable in her own skin.

“I try to achieve the best lighting on the set itself, thus relying as little as possible on the post-treatment of pictures. [Doing so is] all the more important with Vidya because she doesn’t like her images to be re-touched. She is comfortable in her own skin, and doesn’t want to be made slimmer for pictures,” says Ratnani.

HT reports him adding, “During magazine shoots, she tells the editorial team that the photos should only be colour-corrected and shared, without any re-touching. Say, if the flooring or the leaves in the background need colour correction, we do that. We don’t re-touch her image,” Dabboo concludes.

We can only hope that Bollywood and the society at large shuns unrealistic beauty standards so people can feel more comfortable in their own skin, just like this fearless actress!
