Most people are shaped by their beliefs, which when wronged against, sparks outrage within them.
For example, one woman in Ghaziabad, who is a staunch vegetarian, mistakenly received a non-vegetarian pizza. She claims that instead of mushrooms, the restaurant added meat to the pizza. She realised it only after she took a bite from it. Now, the woman has sued the pizza company seeking Rs 1 crore in compensation, reports India Today.
According to TOI, after the woman raised a complaint, the company got in touch with her. They offered her family a free-of-cost pizza meal. However, the woman said that the issue wasn’t as simple and that it had deeply hurt her “religious beliefs”. She added that it caused her “permanent mental agony” and she would have to go through “several long and expensive rituals” which will cost her “lakhs of rupees”.
The petition which was filed against the company mentions that the incident has “contaminated the complainant’s body” and according to her beliefs, killing an animal and eating its meat is a “sin”.
The hearing of the case has been scheduled for March 17.
