Yesterday, actor Varun Dhawan took to social media to inform everyone that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. He also added that necessary safety precautions were in place on the sets of the film he was shooting for but he still got infected. He thanked his fans for all the get well soon messages in this post:

According to NDTV, one Instagram user accused the actor of faking his COVID-19 diagnosis saying, “Bhai sahi mein hua hai na? Ya phir yahan bhi normal khaasi ki overacting kar raha hai.”
Varun called him out on his “sad excuse of humour” and asked him to “get well soon”.
