Attention Movie Buffs! Here Are 7 Bollywood Films To End The Year On A High

2018 has already produced some monumental movies and we are far from over. With films like ‘Padmavati’, ‘Sanju’ and ‘Raazi’, setting the standards towering high, we fans are expecting to end the year with a bang. And going by the list of movies yet to hit the silver screens this year, we don’t think people will be disappointed.

Here are 7 Bollywood biggies to look forward to in the rest of 2018:

The Accidental Prime Minister

With Anupam Kher perfectly nailing the look of Dr. Manmohan Singh, this film has already created a lot of buzz among movie buffs. Kher will justify the role of the economist, and politician who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014 under the United Progressive Alliance. The film is based on the 2014 memoir of the same name by Sanjaya Baru.

Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, the film will be musically assisted by Salim-Sulaiman.

Release Date: 21st December 2018.

Thugs of Hindostan

With a star cast that hardly has any chances to disappoint, Thugs of Hindostan is a film every Indian is looking forward to. Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh – need we say more?

Another release under the Yash Raj banner, the is based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug. A thug called Ameer Ali, whose gang posed a serious challenge to the British Empire in India during the early 19th century. The film will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and is all set to light up your Diwali.

Release Date: 7th November 2018.

Haathi Mere Saathi

A namesake of Rajesh Khanna’s 1971 super hit, Hathi Mere Saathi will have it focus on the conservation of elephants. The film will star Rana Daggubati, KoeKalki Koechlin, Zoya Hussain, Pulkit Samrat and will be based on real-life events. The Prabu Solomon project is a must catch for every animal lover and we are rooting for it.

Release Date: November 2018.

Simmba

This is going to be an entertainer and you can trust me on that. Starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, the film is a remake of Telegu blockbuster ‘Temper’ which had hit the screens in 2015. The film will also mark Sara Ali Khan’s second project of the year after the young actress’ Kedarnath, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, is set for a November release.

Director Rohit Shetty makes his debut with Ranveer Singh with the film and you can already smell the hint of madness in store. To add to your excitement, Ranveer Singh will don the role of a cop going by the name of ACP. Sangram Bhalerao. The movie will also feature a larger than life song ‘Simmba Aala Re’ set to be composed by S. Thaman.

Release Date: 28 December 2018.

Zero

Shah Rukh Khan fans, this one is for you. King Khan’s only movie this year, will see him play the role of a dwarf who falls in love with a superstar (Katrina Kaif). Anushka Sharma will portray the character of a girl with an intellectual disability. In case you do not know, the teaser of the film has already been released and has collected a gigantic response from the fans. For all of us to be enthusiastic about, Salman Khan has a cameo in the film. Wow!

Release Date: 21st December 2018.

Total Dhamaal

You must be lying if you say ‘Dhamaal’ did not make you laugh your ass off. Yes, we agree, ‘Double Dhamaal’ could not live up to the standards, but we have a very high expectation from the third one.

While Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, and Jaaved Jaffrey retain their roles, there have been a few interesting additions. Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit will be seen making their first appearance in the Dhamaal series. The film will be directed by Indra Kumar.

Release Date: 7th December 2018.

You all need to give it up for this one. You need to give it up for the Thalaiva! Superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0 serves as a spiritual successor to the 2010 Tamil film Enthiran (Robot in Hindi) and features Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in other roles. The Khiladi of Bollywood will be seen playing the role of the lead villain while Rajinikanth will reprise the roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti.

The magnum opus is being with an estimated and staggering budget of over 400 crores. The film has also faced several delays due to its high-end special effects and VFX works.

Release date: 29th November 2018.
