‘Twenty One Pilots’ Duo Accepted Their Grammy WITHOUT PANTS And Their Reason Is Very Moving

Renowned as the highest honour in the field of music, the 59th edition of the Grammy Awards was held yesterday in Los Angeles, California. The grand ceremony saw breathtaking performances from artists like Beyoncé, Ed Shereen, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars, but the highlight of the evening was an award reception that can be deemed ‘strange’.

Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, members of the Pop-rock duo ‘Twenty One Pilots’ went pantless on the stage to receive the Grammy award for their uber-popular song, ‘Stressed Out’.

The duo won the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

In their acceptance speech, Tyler and Josh, who hail from Ohio, USA, explained the reason behind their stunt.

“This story, it starts in Columbus, Ohio, it was a few years ago and it was before Josh and I were able to make money playing music. I called him up, and I said, ‘Hey Josh, want to come over to my rental house and watch the Grammys? As we were watching, we noticed every single one of us was in our underwear, and seriously, Josh said to me, and we were no one at the time, he turned to me and he said, ‘If we ever go to the Grammys, if we ever win a Grammy, we should receive it just like this.'”

And Tyler ended the speech with an inspirational message for every budding artist.

“I want everyone at home who is watching to know that you can be next. So watch out, OK, because anyone from anywhere can do anything.”

Uploaded by Recording Academy/ GRAMMYs, here is the video of the two going pantless.

That is one great reason to go pantless I’d say.
