In a classic Bollywood borrowed plot, a man from Tirupattar, Tamil Nadu pushed his elder brother (the groom) aside to marry the bride in what was an ‘arranged marriage.’Â
According to reports, the incident happened at Bala Murugan Temple at Ilayampatti. Apparently, when the priest asked the groom to tie a thali (holy thread) around the bride’s neck, the man’s younger brother who was standing near him suddenly pulled out another thali kept in his shirt pocket and tied it to the bride.
Surprisingly, the bride had no objection. In fact, on further digging, it came to light that the duo was secretly in a relationship.Â
A relationship which began when the younger brother had gone to her house in Rajyapalayam to arrange the marriage of his elder brother. Needless to say, both the families were in shock and opposed the wedlock by forcefully removing her thali. Not just that, the elder brother, who was supposed to get married, left the venue and has now gone missing.
Allegedly the dare-devil was beaten up, but no police complaints have been registered. Although the girl’s relatives came to Tirupattur and took the younger brother forcefully after he denied to come to Rajyapalayam.
