Actress Tina Datta Accuses Co-Star Mohit Malhotra Of Touching Her Inappropriately On A Regular Basis

The #MeToo movement which was started by Tanushree Dutta and her sexual harassment allegations against veteran actor Nana Patekar has seen several women come forward and share their traumatic experiences publicly. As a result of the revolutionary trend, a plethora of biggies from the Bollywood and the Television industry have been unmasked and have been labeled as sexual predators.

And the latest to share her ordeal is television actress Tina Datta, who rose to fame with her role of Iccha Bharti in Uttaran.

According to the 32-year-old actress, her co-star Mohit Malhotra has been touching her inappropriately for a long time on the sets of the serial, Daayan. Making some shocking revelations, Tina, who has reportedly been crying on sets, revealed that Mohit Malhotra has been behaving like a hooligan on the sets and have not changed despite a warning.

“There are some people on set who want to behave as hooligans. Mohit Malhotra is one such. He had been warned once, but he did not change. In fact, things became worse. I spoke to the Creative Head too.”

Mohit’s continuous sickening behavior led to a massive showdown between Tina and the actor at Klick Nixon Studios when they were shooting for a hospital scene. Terming Mohit as ‘annoying’ and ‘frustrated’, Tina mentioned that she has done a variety of scenes in her career but have never faced this kind of a situation before.

“He would say that his character demands that he should keep his hand here and there. There was a big showdown on the set. It happened at Klick Nixon Studios, when were shooting for a hospital scene. Some media people were also there and they saw this. Of course. I made it loud and clear. I have done rape scenes, romantic scenes and intimate scenes before in my career, but never faced something like this with anyone before. He is so annoying. He is so frustrated.”

Speaking to Spotboye, Tina went on to mention that Mohit gave excuses like he got carried away with the scene for his shameful behavior.

“It was going on since a long time. I went public only after it became so much that I couldn’t take it anymore. Nobody gives excuses like him that ‘woh scene mein bahek gaya tha’. He can’t say he got carried away. He was obviously doing it deliberately.”

It is unfortunate that even after the #MeToo movement giving us an insight on how women are disrespected behind the curtains in the glam industry, there are some men who continue to annoy women sexually. We sincerely hope that the allegations by Tina Datta are investigated by an independent body formed by the production house and the perpetrators be punished.
