In our country, there are people hiding away their precious jewellery in bank lockers, keeping their official property papers inside wardrobe safes and avoiding keeping cash in their wallets. This is because they are scared that thieves will be stealing their beloved assets. But who’s gonna tell them that thieves and burglars nowadays are after something much more valuable – bus stops!
That’s right. Thieves in Bengaluru have up their criminal game by stealing an entire bus stop. How did they manage to do so? Nobody knows.
According to News18, the bus stop was being constructed on Cunningham Road and cost Rs 10 lakh. It was being maintained by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation. It had chairs, a roof and poles and the thieves took everything.
The transport body’s vice president, N Ravi Reddy has filed a police complaint of theft and the cops are going through CCTV footage from the nearby buildings to investigate the matter.
“We had constructed this particular bus shelter on Cunningham Road. It was a stainless-steel structure. The cost of the shelter was Rs 10 lakh,” Reddy wrote in his complaint, reported Odisha TV.
Ladies and gentlemen, we now have Bengaluru’s famous bus stop bandits!
