Loads Of Pokéstops In India Are Temples And It’s Confusing The Hell Out Of Everyone!

There’s no need to even begin introducing Pokémon GO. Everyone knows about it as it has taken over every form of social media. People are loitering around all over the country with phones in their hands, trying to catch Pokémon or battling others at gyms.

But one thing that has trumped everyone is why so many Pokéstops are temples. For the uninitiated, Pokéstops are little kiosks which hand out pokéballs and other items to trainers for their quest in the game. And so many of them are temples, and everyone is asking the same question: Why!?

A Reddit thread asked the question and there were a lot of different answers, and a lot of different reactions.

Some are saying that the points are taken from Google Maps, on which the game is based, and since Temples are important locations around any area, and since there are SO MANY of them in the country, it makes sense for the designers to make them Pokéstops.

Others argued that since temples are safe places for children and teenagers to wander to, that must have been the motivation for making them Pokéstops.

Turns out, it was because of the game Ingress, which was also made by the same people. Players would require to send in submissions for points on the map, which became Pokéstops.

But people haven’t stopped making jokes about the fact that teenagers are now going to temples, and out of everything in the world, it’s Pokémon GO which has achieved the feat.

So no matter which part of India you are in, there will always be a little temple which will offer you Prasad in the form of Pokéballs!

Gotta catch ém all!
