Sonam Kapoor Designed Her Own Mangalsutra Because There’s A Hidden Significance In It

Yes I know, a truckload has been said about Sonam Kapoor’s wedding already. But the whole affair has been just so dreamy that we can’t help ourselves! And come on, you’re kind of curious too aren’t you? Amid all the jokes about the fashionista’s wedding practically having taken place on Instagram, you can’t help but indulge that inner filmy in you who absolutely adores all of it!

And you’ve really got to give it to the Veere Di Wedding actress for her attention to detail. Everything from her monogrammed footwear to the couple’s personal hashtag #everydayphenomenal has been as extra as you’d expect from her.

Given that, it should actually come as no surprise if I were to tell you that Sonam had a hand in designing her mangalsutra as well. Because, of course, she did.

Amid the sheer gorgeousness that Sonam was on her big day, and the bling of the ginormous rock that Anand got for her as the wedding ring, her mangalsutra didn’t actually get much of the limelight. That is, until now.

Fine jewellery designer Usheeta Rawtani, today revealed a picture of the sacred necklace in all its matrimonial glory.

The mangalsutra which was designed by Sonam and executed by the jeweller has a pretty amazing significance as well.

Describing the actress’s thought process behind the design, Usheeta says:

“It has symbols of both their star signs. Hers being Gemini (on the left) and his Leo (on the right). these are complimented by a Solitaire in the centre.”

How adorable is that? Even if you are someone who doesn’t believe in all the mystic air around astrology, you’ve got to admit this is pretty special.

Leo men are reportedly dependable by nature, whereas a Gemini woman is the life of the party. And if all the videos floating around of the two on social media are anything to go by, this holds true for Sonam and Anand. Remember how that aunty says ”Bada protective hai tu,” to Anand when he saves Sonam from their taunts? Milord, I rest my case.
