Indian politician Shashi Tharoor has bowled the internet over quite a few times by dishing out complicated words that often leave us scanning the dictionary. It goes without saying that Tharoor has the most complex vocabulary and is an inspiration to many.
Since the Member of Parliament is looked up to by many, this English coaching class decided to cash in on the opportunity and made him their brand ambassador. Promoting one of their online English learning sessions on Facebook, ‘KD Campus Live’ claimed to make every student ‘Shashi Tharoor’ by teaching them only 50 English words, reported News18.
“Angreji ke maatra 50 shabd seekh kar bane Shashi Tharoor aaj raat 10 baje,” read the caption.
And since the witty advertisement was shared extensively on social media, it made it to the timeline of the former international diplomat. The acclaimed writer who has authored 19 bestselling books was quick to acknowledge the ad and took a jibe at it too.
Sharing the post on his Facebook page, he wrote “Mujhe nahin lag raha hain ki 50 shabdon se Shashi Tharoor banega.” (I don’t think anyone can become Shashi Tharoor by just learning 50 words.)
