From Pongal to Alu Puri, I simply love feasting on delicious Indian dishes. However, recently, I stumbled upon a video that has given me an unappetizing shock of a lifetime. In a video shared online, a group of men, who ordered the popular south Indian dish dosa, found a dead lizard in their bowl of sambar at a well-known restaurant in central Delhi’s Connaught Place, reports NDTV.
The incident reportedly took place when complainant Pankaj Agarwal had gone to dine in Saravana Bhavan, which is one of Delhi’s top restaurants, with his friends, reports India Today. In the video, two men can be seen holding a spoon with the carcass of the lizard on it, while half-eaten food can be visibly seen in the background.
Pankaj even yelled at the restaurant staff as he pointed out that half of the lizard is missing. He also showed the menu card in order to confirm the name of the restaurant. He screamed, “I have taken this out from my mouth and half of the lizard is missing.” Another man can be heard saying, “Take the photo from here, the name of the restaurant should be visible.”

Instead of creating ruckus , they should have immediately informed Food Safety Department . If on investigation incidence is found true necessary action under the Food Safety & Standard Act, 2006 should have been initiated against the food business operator .

Later, a police complaint was lodged over the incident and a case has been registered against the restaurant. Police have asked for the CCTV footage from the restaurant and are looking into the details of the cook and the ingredients used to make the sambar. The restaurant’s license has been sought by the cops as well. The case is now under investigation.
While most of us enjoy a treat from outside every now and then, it is important that we look after our hygiene and safety first. What do you think? Tell us.
