Tipped to be the dark horse at the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, the Pakistani side led by Sarfaraz Ahmed has turned out to be the most unpredictable bunch of the tournament. After a humiliating defeat against the West Indies at Nottingham, they returned to the same venue on Monday to defeat hot favourites, England, by 14 runs.
The team which could only score 105 runs in their inaugural match, posted a staggering total of 348, which eventually turned out to be a herculean task for the hosts. However, while the world was in awe of the men in green’s phenomenal comeback, Indian tennis star Sania Mirza posted a tweet to congratulate them.
Sania, whose husband, Shoaib Malik, is very much a part of the Pakistan team representing the country at the grandest stage, took to Twitter to send across a message. While lauding them for their spirited effort, Sania highlighted the immense amount of unpredictability in the current bunch of players.
Congratulations to Team Pakistan on bouncing back the way they did and being as unpredictable like it always is !!! @cricketworldcup got more interesting than it already was 😏😀
