The actor who is now enjoying her honeymoon with her husband in Kashmir revealed that marrying Anas wasn’t a rushed or overnight decision. Hindustan Times quoted her saying:

“Getting married to Anas wasn’t an overnight decision. I have prayed for years for a man like him in my life. What I liked best about him is that he is shareef and unn mein haya hai. He is not judgmental.”

“He had said this to me, ‘Agar koi achhi cheez gutter mein gir gayi hai toh uske upar aap 10 baalti bhi paani daal do, woh saaf nahi hoti hai. Par aap usko gutter se baahar nikaal kar ek glass paani daal do, woh saaf ho jaati hai’ (If something falls in the gutter, you cannot clean it even with 10 buckets of water. But when you take it out, it can be cleaned with one glass of water). That had a lasting impact on me.”

As per a report by The Indian Express, Sana met Anas in 2017 in Mecca. She then contacted him in 2018 to learn about Islam. The two then reconnected with each other in 2020.

Opening up about her decision to bid adieu to the film industry, Sana said that the glamour and fame blinded her. “A lot of people asked why it took me so long to realize that I was in the wrong profession. Bahut cheezein aapko immediately nahi realise hoti hain. Aapko itna glamour aur naam mil jaata hai ki, ya toh aapko kuchh dikhaai nahi deta hai ya faisla nahi le paate hain (You do not realise certain things immediately. The glamour and fame may make you blind to real things and you may not be able to take the right decision).”

She added, “Also, in my case, it was a question of livelihood.”

“I was the sole earning member in my family. The lockdown helped me realize that I had to take this step. The work I was doing was not my cup of tea. I am grateful for what the industry has given me, but I realized that I didn’t belong there.”

Talking about how people perceive them as a couple, Anas said, “I feel that I wouldn’t have been this happy if I had married anybody else. Sana is not full of herself. She is affable, forgiving, and has a clean heart. I always wanted a girl who complimented and completed me.”

“People still ask me how I got married to an actress, but yeh chhoti soch ke log hain. It’s my life and no one should comment on it. People are free to think that we are a mismatched couple, but only we know how compatible we are.”

Fearing what society will think, a lot of us have already sacrificed our love, life, and happiness. I’m glad that Sana and Anas are standing strong against all the judgments. More power to the lovely couple.
