India and cricket. The covalent bond is what keeps the country together. Any Indian’s passion about the game is pretty evident whenever a match or a series is on. And, when it comes to Indian cricket, you all know a name that is almost equivalent to its stature in our country. It is none other than that of Indian Cricket God, Sachin Tendulkar.
Sachin has left an indelible mark on the history of cricket and has many records to his name. The ace cricketer praises talent time and again. And, his words are so encouraging to all aspiring cricketers.
Recently, another wonderful Indian talent, Mithali Raj made India super-proud with her winning stride and her record of becoming the highest run-scorer in the Women’s ODI.
India is singing praises of the 34-year-old caption of Indian Women’s Cricket Team and so is Sachin. In a Facebook post, the GOD of cricket wrote how it’s amazing to watch her play.
MEET Mithali Raj: Her father, retired Air Force Sergeant Dorai Raj, wanted to combat 8-year-old Mithali’s habit of sleeping in late every morning. So, he took her along with him to her brother’s Cricket coaching sessions early every morning. If anyone had told 8-year-old Mithali Raj that one day she would grow up to break a world record in Women’s ODI Cricket, she may or may not have believed it. All it takes is a moment when talent is recognised and steered in the right direction. It was great speaking with you yesterday, Mithali. You are a tremendous athlete and it’s always amazing to watch you play. Keep up the great work! Come on, #TeamIndia! All the best, #WomenInBlue! ICC – International Cricket Council UNICEF #CricketForGood
Humbled by the words, Mithali thanked Sachin.

This all sounds so much like any Indian cricketer’s dream. Doesn’t it? In a country where cricket is dominated by men, it is such a refreshing change to applaud the efforts of Indian Women’s Cricket Team, who too bleed blue and make our chests swell with pride.
Way to go, Mithali!
