Dhoni has been an inspiration to so many of us and there is absolutely no reason why he shouldn’t. Not only is he an extremely talented cricketer but also a very humble and a calm human being! The style in which he captained the Indian Cricket Team will always remain etched in everyone’s heart!
Actor Rohit Roy too is in complete awe of him. He met Dhoni in 2014 during the IPL season and he cannot forget it. He said,
“A meeting with Dhoni in Jaipur during the IPL games is one important life event etched in my memory.”
What made the meeting so special is that Dhoni’s team (Chennai Super Kings) had lost the match but his reaction was completely different. It will definitely make you revere Dhoni even more. Roy said,
“After the match, I went with a couple of guys to meet Mahi in his room and he was sitting relaxed. I thought that we would be a little less cheerful or despondent. Out of curiosity, I asked him how was he so composed. To which he said, ‘Winning and losing is a part of everyone’s journey. If I don’t lose today, I won’t enjoy the win tomorrow. So instead of moping about something that has already happened I’d rather focus on what’s coming’.
Now although it’s nothing I hadn’t heard before, but hearing it from a champ like him made it a little more impactful. Also made it clear why he is captain cool. I must admit it changed my thought process a bit for the better.”
It isn’t everybody’s cup of tea to take defeat with so much of grace. The wise ones know that you cannot always win just like you cannot always lose and so they lead the Indian Cricket Team!
