12 Retro Fashion Trends That Are Making A Comeback!

Is fashion your passion? If it’s not, we’ve got you covered. If you are one of those people who is let’s say ‘an old soul’ trapped in the 21st century, we’ve got some retro styles that you’d feel at home in and they wouldn’t look weird.

So maybe Govind’s white pants or Ravina’s weird length pants, might have to be thrown out, but you can still keep some of the golden stuff!

1. Polka Dots

Polka dots are totally worth the buy, especially the smaller prints. I usually go for really sombre colours, but you can be a lot more playful and try out variations on crop tops or dresses.

2. High waist pants

If you’re a Friends’ fan, then you must have had a soft spot for high-waist jeans and pants, and they’ve come back in a big way! You can team the up with shirts to make it or casual or tuck in your favourite top for a night out.

3. Skater dresses

I love skater dresses, think Dianna’s dress in Sam Smith’s ‘I’m Not The Only One’. Grated it’s come back shorter, but in essence it’s still the same.

4. Head bands

We aren’t talking fancy, Gossip Girl headbands, we’re talking tying a simple scarf into an effective hairband! It’s pretty cute and plus it makes you look approachable in this very edgy world.

5. The Fringe

Don’t cringe at the fringe. Because it’s coming back to add some layers to your life. But if you do venture into the fringe territory, I’d say keep it limited to one piece of clothing.

6. Denim on Denim

My colleague tried convincing me for one whole working day that Denim on denim was cool. I outright refused and made a fuss, until I saw all our fashion bloggers pulling it off like it was the season’s trend. Which I learned, that it was.

7. Ponchos

It’s really comfortable and honestly something to keep for all those days we feel bloated, because lets face it when there’s Biryani, those days are bound to come.

8. Suspenders

A short lesson in looking dapper boys, pull of suspenders. Because they sort of remind you of these rustic men, with class. So maybe, you can try it this Saturday!

9. Vests

It’s not just limited to men or women, vests look pretty good on everyone. It has the power to bring your whole outfit together, but use it wisely.

10. Bowties

Omg! I love bowties on men, it’s so adorable. So if for one day, you can leave your need to look absolutely ‘macho’ and settle for ‘cute’ instead, then you and this bowtie, might make a good pair.

Karishma Kapoor should have been the official ambassador for these thing, back in the day, but oh well. It’s pretty cute on almost everyone, just make sure there are no camel-toe scenes happening.

12. Hats

Though one of my favourite movie quotes ‘All hats are a mistake’, that’s about to chance this season. Style wears a hat now, and you can too.

Now that you’ve read my rambling about retro fashion, you should start looking for your retro outfit for this weekend.
