Cricket is a very engaging sport filled with entertaining players. From being a potential meme material to calling a fellow sportsmen ‘G**du’ on live TV, cricketers surely know how to keep their fans hooked.
In the second T20I match against New Zealand, Indian bowlers stepped up their game to get the job done. In fact, captain Virat Kohli himself hailed the performance of the bowlers after their victory. KL Rahul, who scored another half-century, was later adjudged the player of the match.
However, according to former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar, a bowler should have been the man of the match, reports Hindustan Times. According to him the impact of the bowlers was far more than that of the batsmen. He took to twitter to share his opposing thought.
Have a look at his tweet:
Player of the match should have been a bowler. #INDvNZ

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who has been previously trolled by the commentator, took a dig at his tweet and asked Manjrekar to specifically name the bowler.
What is the name of that bowler?? Pls pls mention 🤪

Manjrekar sportingly replied to Jadeja, suggesting either he or Bumrah should have won the award.
Ha ha…Either you or Bumrah. Bumrah, because he was extremely economical while bowling overs no 3, 10, 18 and 20. https://t.co/r2Fa4Tdnki

People took to twitter to appreciate Jadeja’s savage response:
@Jitendr63761289 different level of sir jadeja trolling😂😂😂

Few people even agreed with Manjrekar that the man of the match should have been Jadeja:
It had to be @imjadeja ..gets 2 of the most dangerous batsmen out ..concedes only 18 in his 4..puts brakes on scoring ..creates pressure for other bowlers to dominate…in a score of 135 also if batsmen are given MOM then bowlers kya taali bajane ke liye rakhe hai ..ridiculous!!

@imjadeja @Jaspritbumrah93 @BCCI @NewZealandCric1 @imVkohli @ImRo45
With all due respect , I have the same feeling. Match is completely pulled by blowers. In twenty-20 100runs=4wkts then 2wkts and just 18 runs in 4 overs at crucial time.
Hope it will consider next time.— Sid.Prachande (@PrachandeSid) January 27, 2020
Well played Sir Jadeja.
It doesn't matter who get MOM
U have to play important role in winning WC2020.
All the best.I believe u will be MOS in ODIs against NZ#INDvsNZ

I don’t know why @imjadeja was not MOM for World Cup Semifinal when no one was close to his performance. He deserves for his 3D performances

Well, we are proud of the Indian team’s victory irrespective of who won the man of the match. But, do you think this friendly banter heralds a truce between the two? Let us know in the comments below.
