Rahul Gandhi Makes Sexist Remark On Michelle Obama And Gets Trolled For It On Twitter

Every time Rahul Gandhi gives a speech, comedians lie eagerly in wait for new material for their sets. And most of the time, we easily get it. Honestly, Rahul Gandhi has been the source of so much comic material out there it’s surprising he still decides to get back up on that podium. Well, I don’t know what his motivations are, but as long as I’m getting new content, I say go for it!

In his latest speech at a rally in Jaunpur, Rahul Gandhi made some blatantly sexist remarks about Michelle Obama.

“Jab Obama ji ki patni America mein apni rasoi mein kuch pakaye, patilon ko dekh kar kahein sundar patila hai, aur patile pe likha ho ‘Made in Jaunpur’.”

Michelle Obama, a vocal advocate of the woman empowerment in the USA, sits in the kitchen admiring the utensils. Seriously?

And he didn’t just stop there:

“We would emboss ‘Made in Uttar Pradesh’ over (Every Phone), and whichever shop (the U.P. farmer) visits, the entire stock would be from U.P.”

Twitter wasn’t going to stand for this and dropped some hilarious tweets trolling him.

1. So much noise that even the echo is funny.

2. Overambitious. That’s one way to put it.

3. This guy certainly knows whom to blame.

4. Somebody’s got their creative juices flowing.

5. She’ll probably go on a cleanse.

6. I second that.

7. I think you must introduce your speechwriter to a fact checker.

8. Okay, I don’t always watch these shows, but I’d watch this episode!

9. Every comedian’s dream, isn’t it?

10. Hey, let’s not go overboard here. Comedians put in the effort to aim for the best. Let’s not give away that honour so easily.

11. Honestly, I’m just imagining a white house kitchen full of patilas right now.

12. I hope they really do share that sentiment.

Just another wonderful day on the internet. All thanks to Mr Rahul Gandhi!
