Delhi Guy Trademarks ‘PS5’ 3 Months Before Sony & Delays Its India Launch, Gamers React

Let’s cut to the chase. All you Indian gaming geeks waiting for the launch of PlayStation 5, we have sad news for you. Japanese multinational conglomerate Sony is set to launch PlayStation 5 on November 12 worldwide, however, people in India might have to wait a little longer to grab the latest edition of the gaming console all because of a ‘prankster’ from Delhi.

Well, apparently a Delhi man named Hitesh Aswani holds the trademark rights for ‘PS5’ which has become a hindrance for the company and has delayed the launch of the product in India, reports News18.

Hitesh reportedly filed the trademark for the name three months before Sony could, back on October 29, 2019 as per government website. Sony applied for the trademark on February 28, 2020. Currently, the status of the trade mark reads ‘opposed’ on the official website.

As soon as the news made it to social media, it irked several gamers eagerly waiting for the launch of the next-gen gaming console in India. Here’s how they reacted:
