Deepti Sharma’s knock of 49 runs, Shikha Pandey sending 3 players back to the pavilion and wicket-keeper Taniya Bhatia’s fielding were a treat to watch but leg-spinner and Player of the Match Poonam Yadav stole the show.
Her matchwinning spell took the crucial wickets of Alyssa Healy (51), Ellyse Perry (0), and Rachael Haynes (0). According to The Indian Express, the 28-year-old ceded only 19 runs in the 4 overs she bowled.

NDTV quoted her saying,
“It was great for me to come back from injury and perform like this. It was the third time that I was on a hat-trick but satisfied that I was able to do the job for the team.”
She might have missed her hat-trick but cricket fans were overjoyed with her amazing performance against the defending champions. Some even compared her to Jasprit Bumrah. Take a look.
Staggering performance by India's women. Australia were favourites for the tournament and this is a huge result. Top effort from the bowlers. How good was Deepti Sharma! But it was the little leggie Poonam Yadav who turned it around. #iccwomenst20worldcup
