‘Pihu’ Trailer Shocks The Internet By Putting A 2-YO In The Scariest Situations Possible

There have been some brilliant movies that are restricted to just one location. For example, ’12 Angry Men’, ‘Rear Window’, ‘Rope’ etc. But the bigger challenge is to use only one character in that one location. Now that’s been done in movies like ‘Buried’, ‘1408’, ‘Trapped’, ‘Locke’ and more. And while the characters in these movies were all adults, director Vinod Kapri has gone a step further for ‘Pihu’ by making the protagonist a 2-year-old child.

In a mere 2-minutes, Vinod Kapri will bring you to the edge of whatever you’re sitting on by subjecting a 2-YO kid named Pihu through a cascade of horrifying situations. This isn’t for the faint of heart, so proceed with caution.

The trailer does begin on a very light note as it introduces Pihu to the audience. But in a matter of seconds, we see her getting into a fridge and locking herself from the inside. From there onwards, it’s just one nail-biting episode after another. Broken glass on the floor, fire on the burner, wires short-circuiting, you know, the whole nine yards. And just to put your anxiety on the next level, spoiler alert, Pihu’s dead mother is in the bedroom.

Netizens, which also included Bollywood celebrities, were riveted by the first trailer for ‘Pihu’ and expressed their excitement about the movie.

1. That’s a good question.

2. Even he hasn’t done something like this in his lifetime.

3. Myra Vishwakarma is already raising the bar.

4. Our guts are shaken and stirred.

5. Speechless? More like 2-minutes of shrieking.

6. Seriously, can’t wait to watch this movie and have a heart attack.

7. This trailer has Adil Hussain’s seal of approval.

8. It already looks amazing.

With movies like ‘Andhadhun’ and ‘Stree’ raking in huge box-office numbers, it’s obvious that Indian audiences are becoming open to unconventional (or non-masala) films. But to go the extra distance for his second movie and make something that’s never, ever been seen in the history of cinema, is exceptional. Vinod Kapri and his team deserves a round of applause for that alone. Now, let’s hope the movie is as chilling as the trailer.
