The Indian women’s cricket team bled blue yesterday. The score board was not in our favour but our girls gave it their all. The girls might have lost the World Cup Finals but they sure did win our hearts.
The India-England match was a nail biting finale which had everyone tenterhook. India lost the match by 9 runs but they won our respect by leaps and bounds. They proved that Cricket is no longer a men dominated game!
As soon as England lifted the trophy, Piers Morgan tried taking a dig at none other than Virender Sehwag. He tweeted this-
You OK, buddy @virendersehwag? #WWC2017final 😂😂😂
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) July 23, 2017
But it was Sehwag’s reply which had Twitter buzzing! Sehwag’s reply was a reflection of how the entire nation was feeling and no amount of trolling could bring down that respect.
Me and all of India prouder even in this loss than you can ever be mate.We fought well &will only get better & stronger.
Enjoy for a change! https://t.co/Dv1gn2jpWn— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) July 23, 2017
Twitter was all praises for Sehwag’s mature reply and soon, reactions started pouring in.

4. It has not been an easy journey for these girls.
@piersmorgan … someone in your position and of your calibre perhaps should encourage more rather than troll..

5. A journey that has swelled our hearts with pride and admiration!
The joy of travelling is in the journey and not the destination ☺️

As long as the game of Cricket exists, the war of tweets between Sehwag and Piers Morgan shall continue to exist. It would have been a double celebration if the cup was lifted by our girls, but this exposure has done so much more than that. Finally, these women are being applauded for their efforts and hard work. Finally, our girls are getting the appreciation they truly deserve and that my friend is the greatest victory!
We thank the team for a wonderful final and more so, for opening doors to countless other girls who want to take up a sport in our country.
