People who prefer love marriages will find arranged marriages weird. After all, how can somebody decide to marry a person without even knowing them, right? But how many romantic relationships end down the drain while arranged marriages stick through? Innumerable. So to say arranged marriages don’t work and love marriages do is erroneous.
A lot of people who dated in the past but later opted for arranged marriages took to Reddit’s r/Arrangedmarriage subreddit to explain why they did so. One user posted on the subreddit that they didn’t get the time or opportunity to date anyone and now it’s too late to try and so, they decided to give arranged marriages a try.

After the user asked other people to share their experiences, many opened up about having a dating history and choosing to have an arranged marriage have no connection whatsoever. Compatibility, as some said, is a matter of sheer luck – you might not be compatible with the person you are dating but can have a 10/10 compatibility with your partner in an arranged marriage.
Some people, however, didn’t have a choice and were forced to say yes under family pressure.
There are also a lot of people who had no luck while dating and all their relationships ended. But wanting to get married, they choose to have an arranged marriage.
A few revealed that their partner’s parents blatantly said no despite having years’ worth of a relationship. Hence, they decided to settle.
