Some people lack basic decency and etiquette while travelling via public transport. Nobody likes to sit on a seat which is dirty or where earlier passengers have rested their legs. But this doesn’t seem to register on the minds of so many. Here’s an example.
A photojournalist from Mumbai, Prashant Waydande, shared a video on Twitter of two people, a guy and a woman, misbehaving with him after he asked them not to rest their legs on the opposite seat inside a Mumbai local train. The woman in the video is adamant, doesn’t remove her legs despite being asked multiple times, claims that they are lawyers, and asks Prashant to stop recording.
The sheer entitlement and lack of civic sense in these two individuals are alarming, to say the least. Prashant tagged Mumbai Police and Central Railway on this tweet for them to take necessary action. Have a look:
@MumbaiPolice @Central_Railway @CPMumbaiPolice these people supposed to be lawyers and sitting in the train like this pic.twitter.com/W3dYwtGnSr

Mumbai Police took cognizance of this and further tagged GRP Mumbai (Mumbai Railway Police Commissionerate). However, people online slammed the two individuals for their actions and said that they should be ashamed for behaving in such a manner inside the local train.
Unacceptable behaviour. Please take action @grpmumbai

The entitlement, arrogance and total lack of decency. The way she answers isn’t just rude but quite disrespectful as well. If they are really lawyers, it’s even more shameful.

People saying it’s totally fine if they keep their feet on seats. It is a public property. Others use it too. Please have the decency to use it properly

This nuisance is happening across India in trains and buses. The conductors and TTrs should be empowered to deal with such rogue passenger. Hygiene wise it is not acceptable to keep your legs in seat. Need to stop this. Thanks bro for sharing this and creating awareness
