Passenger Suffers Cardiac Arrest At Varanasi Airport, Prompt CPR By CISF Official Saves His Life

We’re primarily used to our gallant army-men saving lives at the border. Yet one Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) official acted beyond the call of duty. It seemed like just another workday for CISF Inspector Niraj Kumar who was posted at the Varanasi airport.  But all that was about to change.

Manoj Singh was on his way to Mumbai when he suddenly suffered cardiac arrest at the Varanasi airport on Monday. Singh fainted and collapsed at the airport terminal around noon just as he was placing his luggage on the X-ray scanner.

Kumar, who was on-duty noticed this and rushed to his aid, reported an official. Take a look at the footage of the incident-

“The man suffered a cardiac arrest. Without losing any time, Inspector Kumar started administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) medical procedure to the passenger. The passenger soon regained his senses and was rushed to a hospital,” the official said.

Singh, (48) is now recovering and the medical authorities deem him stable, reports Business Standard. Fortunately for him, CISF officials guarding 60 civil airports in the country are well trained in CPR and similar medical procedures!
