‘Parched’ Starring Radhika Apte Will Soon Be A Part Of The Oscar Library!

‘Parched’ was released internationally way back in 2015 and won several awards. However in India, it never saw the light of day as it faced resistance from the country’s censor board. Now, the movie is being honoured yet again, this time by the Oscar Library!

The movie, starring Radhika Apte, has been inducted into the prestigious Margaret Herrick Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, popularly known as the Oscar Library.

This is the first time a non-mainstream Indian film has received this honour.

The Oscar Library is a non-circulating reference library open to the public and is dedicated to the advancement of motion picture as a form of art and an industry.

The library is accessible to the public all year round and is frequented by students, historians, scholars and industry professionals.

The director of the film, Leena, had this to say.

“It’s a great honour for your film’s script to be invited to be a part of the library, so naturally I am delighted. But not just that, I am thrilled with the overall response the trailer and the film has been getting across.”

Adil Hussain, an actor who was part of the film, tweeted this letter from the Oscar Library.

We’d like to congratulate all those involved in the production of this film and eagerly await its India release!
