11-Year-Old Pakistani Girl Writes To PM Modi Asking To Bridge Gap Between The Two Nations

While the current relationship status between India and Pakistan may not be exactly sweet, it can’t be denied that common people of the two South Asian nations want peace and harmony between the two.

This time, it is a sweet gesture from a Pakistani schoolgirl that has caught the attention of everyone.

Aqeedat Naveed, an 11-year-old girl from Lahore, Pakistan, has penned a beautiful letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In her letter, Naveed has urged the PM to take steps towards forging peaceful relations between the two nations.

A class 5 student, Aqeedat and her brother, Moarrikh (14) have written such letters to many famous personalities in the past too.

Congratulating the PM for his victory in Uttar Pradesh state assembly elections, Naveed made some strong points in her two-page letter.

Here is what the letter said:

Dear Modi,
Once my father told me that winning of hearts is a marvellous job. Perhaps you have won the hearts of Indian people, therefore you won the election in UP. But I must tell you if you want to win more Indian and Pakistani hearts, you should take steps towards friendship and peace.
Both countries need good relations. Let’s make a peace bridge between India and Pakistan. Let’s decide that we will not buy bullets, will buy books. We will not buy the guns, will buy the medicine for poor people.
The choice is ours, peace or conflict.
I congratulate you for your success in UP election.
Take care
Warmest regards
Aqeedat Naveed

Previously, the brother-sister duo drew the attention of Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif towards the miserable condition of Sikhs in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province. They also received a greeting card from Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos and PM Modi for writing letters to them.

Naveed and her brother want to see an influx of tourists in Pakistan like India and want to visit Taj Mahal and Delhi. If positive gestures like these continue from people on both sides of the border and hostile activities cease, maybe one day we too can have borders like the European nations.
