According to Daily Mail, Emma was gaining weight, however, she thought it was because she has been overeating during the lockdown. However, on May 2, Emma suffered sharp pains throughout her work at a complex care unit. She thought the pain was a result of appendicitis. Hence, on returning home after a 12-hour shift, she took two paracetamol pills.

But when the pills failed to work, she texted her husband Daniel an informed him about her situation. He immediately called for an ambulance, reports News18.

“Something didn’t feel right and I thought it could be my appendix because of the really sharp pain. We spoke to 111 and they agreed that was possible and did an assessment, to see if we could save going to hospital under the current circumstances,” Emma explained.

However, before any medical assistance could reach, her pains got worse. “Then the pains got worse and I was lying down on the bed when my waters broke. Isabelle started to appear and Daniel could see her head and my mom shouted that I needed to really push.”

Emma gave birth to a newborn newborn five weeks earlier than her due date, at home in presence of husband Daniel and mother Tracey Hall. He also revealed how she never had morning sickness and was still wearing her everyday clothes.

“I had no pregnancy symptoms, I didn’t have any morning sickness, cravings hadn’t gone off anything and I was still in my normal clothes, which were a little bit tight, but I thought that was through the lockdown and have been eating a bit more.”

The couple, who already have a three-year-old son named Oliver, said the coming of the unexpected baby feels surreal.

Talking about the incident Daniel said, “I had to phone my parents and tell them my wife was having a baby and I couldn’t believe it at that moment that we were going to have a baby. I just can’t sing Emma’s praises enough, she did an intensive job all day, took two painkillers and then gave birth. We couldn’t wait to get them both home.”

The couple who didn’t expect a baby is happy that their family is complete. Well, they’ll have an interesting story to tell Isabelle about her birth.
