While We Line Up To Get 100s, eBay Is Selling A ₹2000 Note Ending With 786 For ₹15 LAKHS!

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the bold step of demonetising ₹1000 and ₹500 currency notes last week, the entire nation is seen standing and waiting in long queues outside banks to get their old notes exchanged. However tiring the job may be, people are also excited to get their hands on the new ₹2000 note.

If you have still not been able to get the new note and desperately want one, you may need to get off the bank line and go online instead. We came across this new note bearing the 786 number which is being sold on eBay for a whopping sum of ₹15 lakhs. (there are similar posts on eBay selling notes bearing the number 786)

The note bears the Islamic holy number ‘786’ as its last three digits and is available for bidding. There are many similar posts on eBay which are selling the new currency notes at premiums starting from ₹3500.

 

A New Delhi astrologer, who did not want to be named said,

“In India, people are ready to pay a premium for goods that sport numbers with religious significance such as vehicle number plates, mobile numbers or even residential addresses.”

 

Last year, the Madhya Pradesh High Court issued legal notices to many online marketplaces, including eBay for selling Indian currency carrying unique numbers.

When asked about such posts on the site, an eBay spokesperson said that there have been no successful transactions for these notes and the company would make sure to disable such listings to stay away from any legal troubles.
