Most of us have let loose while staying indoors during the lockdown. From going braless to making pets our coworkers, being at home surely has its perks. However, it also means some of us have been stuffing our faces with too much food and have not taken a bath in forever.
But sometimes girls get judged for being messy or stinky, while the usual response for men doing the same things may be ‘boys will be boys’. Recently, B-town veteran Neena Gupta raised the issue of women dealing with the pressure of being perfect at all times, reports Hindustan Times. Drawing attention to a very basic topic, the actor questioned why only men have the right to fart or burp in public while women cannot do the same.
She said how women have been busy cooking special dishes during the quarantine. She mentions how eating extra food might give people gas sometimes. However, she doesn’t understand why men can freely fart or burp in the open but women are not expected to do the same. She was quoted saying,
“Men do it out in the open. Women try to control it or go in a corner to do it. Why? This is my question. Do it. What else will you do? Will, you live in discomfort?”
Several people agreed with her thoughts:
The ‘Badhaai Ho’ actress credited her staff for recording the video. She is self-quarantining with her husband Vivek Mehra at their house in Mukteshwar. Where do you stand when it comes to farting in public? Tell us!
